BOARDING

(Contact us for current pricing and availability)

We are not a boarding facility, we are a training business; however, as a benefit to our clients, if we have trained your dog in one of our Board & Train Programs, they are welcome to board with us (space available) in our residential boarding facility while you are away.  While boarding, your dog will be required to follow the rules just like they did during training and this provides a great opportunity to give your dog a training refresher while you are away.  All dogs love to return to ExFed Dog Training for structured boarding, and clients report that their dogs start getting excited in the car when they get close by. We love welcoming back ExFed Pack Members and their families.

During boarding, your dog will be incorporated into our pack and that means, joining pack walks, and structured play. As always, if you have authorized, we will post photos and video of your dog on our Facebook page, just like we do for dogs here training.  Clients love the ability to see that their loved ones are having fun while boarding here at ExFed Dog Training.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires proof of current rabies vaccination or appropriate titer testing, and we require that you provide recent proof from a Veterinarian that your dog is free of Ova and Parasites, as well as your dog’s vaccination records.  This is done by a very simple and inexpensive test where you provide your Veterinarian with your dog’s fecal sample and they perform a “Fecal Float” and antigen test for ova and parasites to ensure your dog is healthy and free of intestinal parasites. We find that our home-based boarding is not only fun for dogs, but much less stressful for them.

We only board healthy dogs and if we observe any signs of illness, for your safety as well as the other dog’s, we will unfortunately not be able to board your dog.  We will examine your dog for fleas and ticks and any infestation will have to be treated prior to boarding with us.

Dogs, like humans, can be vaccinated and still get sick.  As an example, the Bordatella vaccine (canine cough) does NOT fully immunize your dog against canine cough (dog flu).   These measures are taken to protect all dogs in our care and although it is impossible to be 100% effective, it does serve to reduce the odds.  If you want to improve your dog’s health and extend their life, please visit our Nutrition and Wellness page.
